After Memorial Day storms brought programming to a halt for Forum Communications’ WDAY TV 6 (ABC) and WDAY-AM in Fargo, ND, engineers are still assessing damage. WDAY studios located in downtown Fargo lost power and the generator was unable to continue to cool the electronic equipment. Therefore, to refrain from damaging the equipment any further, they shut down their broadcast facility hub which controls WDAY-TV serving the greater Fargo-Moorhead area, WDAZ-TV serving the Grand Forks-Devils Lake area, KBMY-TV serving the Bismarck and Dickinson areas and KMCY-TV serving the Minot and Williston areas. They are all currently back on the air after power was restored by Xcel Energy.

WDAY AM experienced major damage to all three of its towers. Meanwhile, their internet stream is broadcasting at www.wday.com or through their TVs on Channel 6.3. Crews are assessing whether one of the towers can be saved and put the AM back on the air.

WDAY-TV went down Monday around 9 p.m. Regular programming resumed Tuesday afternoon about 4:50 p.m.
