Wednesday night is Inside Out NY on NYC life (channel 25), featuring the personalities, businesses, and LGBT entertainment community that make New York City unique. Bronx Flavor with Baron Ambrosia and New York Originals join Under the Pink Carpet and In the Life on Wednesday, May 12, starting at 9pm. The night concludes with the premiere of the opening match of Gotham Girls Roller Derby. NYC life is the flagship station of NYC Media, the official network of the City of New York.
The night kicks off at 9pm with Bronx Flavor with Baron Ambrosia. In “The Agony of Flavor,” Baron Ambrosia loses his taste-buds to the wretched Dona Sofrito while attempting to foil a group of evil pastel makers known as La Sociedad. He runs to Haitian Vodou Queen Mambo Rose in hopes of getting them back. Each episode of Bronx Flavor, which originally appeared on BronxNet, chronicles the Baron’s mission to unveil the cultural diversity of the Bronx and its cuisine.
At 9:30pm, New York Originals premieres. Host Jamie McDonald visits one of the last classic Lower East Side businesses – Russ & Daughters, enters the world of slot car racing in Brooklyn, rolls a few cigars in Chelsea, and visits a Queens ice cream parlor that’s almost one hundred years old. New York Originals explores classic one-of-a-kind shops and mom-and-pop businesses that have stood the test of time throughout the five boroughs.
Under the Pink Carpet, airing at 10pm, dedicates its latest episode to the Pill Awards, one of the edgiest and most avant garde events of the year in New York’s LGBT community. This episode takes us backstage and behind the scenes to meet the most progressive LGBT video artists who are having the greatest impact upon the electronic universe and features clips from the videos that are rocking the gay subculture. Under the Pink Carpet is the only television series to report on LGBT arts, culture and entertainment in the city with host Tony Sawicki and special correspondent Clover Honey.
At 10:30pm, In the Life profiles gay and lesbian issues and culture in this American Public Television news magazine.
