WEEI.com, the website of the nation’s top rated sports radio station WEEI-AM, saw its total number of unique visitors in October 2010 surpass the one million mark, an all-time high for the website.    Since it dramatically expanded online content beginning in May 2008, WEEI.com has seen its unique visitors skyrocket from 201,059 to over 1,000,000 in October 2010 according to Onestat.com.

During the month of October, WEEI.com saw its total page views increase to over 5.6 million, an increase of approximately 225% since May 2008.  Additionally users have flocked to the expanded WEEI content available to them by non-traditional means such as their mobile devices, as WEEI mobile Apps and Websites saw 95,000 unique visitors in October 2010.  (source:  Localytics and PercentMobile)

“The WEEI Sports Radio Network generates ‘can’t miss’ content and distributes it to the places our consumers want to consume,” said Tim Murphy, Vice President and General Manager of Entercom Boston.  “This achievement is a testament to the overall, integrated brand and content strength of WEEI.”

Referral visits from search engines & links from other sites increased from 167,500 in May 2008 to 710,000 in October 2010, an increase of 323% (Onestat).

Time-shifted audio on demand plays increased from 80,548 in May 2008 to 572,348 in October 2010, an increase of 615% (RAMP).

Online audio streaming increased from 39,742 in May 2008 to 121, 322 in October 2010, an increase of 205% (Ando).

“This latest accomplishment underscores the fact that the appetite for WEEI content is bigger than ever,” said Entercom Jason Wolfe, Vice President of Programming for WEEI and WRKO Radio.  “Our intention when we relaunched WEEI.com was to completely break the mold of what a radio station website could be, and clearly we’ve done that.”
