“The Good Wife” Delivers Season-High Ratings in Viewers and Key Demos

Big performances by CBS’s comedies, dramas, Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos led CBS to a decisive weekly win in viewers and key demographics, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Jan. 8, week 16 of the 2011-2012 season.

CBS posted its best weekly deliveries in viewers and key demographics since the week ending Nov. 6, 2011.  Compared to the same week last year, CBS was up +28% in households, +30% in viewers, +35% in adults 25-54 and +43% in adults 18-49. 

For the week in viewers:  CBS (12.67m), NBC (8.26m), ABC (7.27m) and FOX (4.23m). Season-to-date:  CBS (12.15m), ABC (8.63m), FOX (8.33m) and NBC (7.45m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in both adults 25-54 (4.2/10) and adults 18-49 (3.3/09).  Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.1/10) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09).

For the week in households:  CBS (7.7/12), NBC (5.0/08), ABC (4.6/07) and FOX (2.6/04).   Season-to-date:  CBS (7.6/12), ABC (5.5/09), FOX (5.0/08) and NBC (4.6/08). 

 Season-to-date, CBS is up +7% in and adults 18-49, +4% in viewers and +5% in adults 25-54.

CBS Weekly Highlights:

— Monday, CBS was first in households (7.2/11), viewers (11.99m), adults 25-54 (4.8/10), adults 18-49 (3.8/09) and adults 18-34 (2.4/07). 

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was first in households (6.1/09), viewers (10.14m), adults 25-54 (4.7/10), adults 18-49 (3.9/09) and adults 18-34 (3.4/10).

2 BROKE GIRLS was first in households (7.2/10), viewers (12.10m), adults 25-54 (5.4/11), adults 18-49 (4.4/10) and adults 18-34 (3.3/09).  2 BROKE GIRLS built on its lead-in by +18% in households, +15% in adults 25-54, +13% in adults 18-49 and added +1.96m viewers (+19%).   Compared to the last first-run episode (on Dec. 12, 2011 at 8:00 PM), 2 BROKE GIRLS was up +2% in adults 25-54 (from 5.3/13), +5% in adults 18-49 (from 4.2/11) and +18% in adults 18-34 (from 2.8/09).

TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in households (8.3/12), viewers (13.94m), adults 25-54 (5.8/12), adults 18-49 (4.5/10) and adults 18-34 (2.8/10). 

MIKE & MOLLY was first in households (7.2/10), viewers (11.90m), adults 25-54 (5.0/10) and adults 18-49 (3.8/09). 

HAWAII FIVE-0 was first in households (7.3/12), viewers (11.90m), adults 25-54 (3.9/09) and adults 18-49 (2.9/07).  Compared to the last first-run episode (on Dec. 12, 2011), HAWAII FIVE-0 was up +4% in households (from 7.0/11), +3% in adults 25-54 (from 3.8/09), even in adults 18-49 and added +610,000 viewers (from 11.29m, +5%). 

— Tuesday, CBS was first in households (10.0/15), viewers (16.27m), adults 25-54 (4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (3.4/09).  CBS posted its best Tuesday delivery with regularly scheduled programming in households since Nov. 8, 2011, in viewers since Sept. 20, 2011 (premiere week Tuesday) and in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since Oct. 25, 2011.  CBS won every half-hour in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.  CBS won its 15th Tuesday in 16 weeks in viewers. 

NCIS was first in households (11.9/18), viewers (19.81m), adults 25-54 (5.7/13) and adults 18-49 (4.1/11).  NCIS posted its best delivery in viewers and adults 25-54 since Nov. 15, 2011 and adults 18-49 since Nov. 8, 2011. 

NCIS: LOS ANGELES was first in households (10.5/16), viewers (17.08m), adults 25-54 (4.9/11) and adults 18-49 (3.5/08).  NCIS: LOS ANGELES posted its best deliveries in both households and viewers since Feb. 22, 2011, best adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 ratings since Oct. 25, 2011. 

UNFORGETTABLE was first in households (7.6/12), viewers (11.88m), adults 25-54 (3.5/08) and adults 18-49 (2.6/06).  UNFORGETTABLE posted its best deliveries in both households and adults 25-54 since Nov. 8, 2011, best viewers performance since Sept. 27, 2011 and best adults 18-49 ratings since Sept. 20, 2011 (the series premiere). 

— Friday, CBS was first in households (6.4/11), viewers (10.10m), second in adults 25-54 (2.5/07) and adults 18-49 (1.7/05).  CBS won 15 of 16 Fridays this season in viewers.  Compared to the same night last year, CBS was up +25% in households, +14% in adults 25-54 and +13% in adults 18-49. 

A GIFTED MAN was first in households (5.5/09), viewers (8.38m), second behind FOX’s football in adults 25-54 (2.1/06) and adults 18-49 (1.5/05).  Compared to the last first-run episode (on Dec. 2, 2011), A GIFTED MAN was up +4% in households (from 5.3/09), +11% in adults 25-54 (from 1.9/06), +15% in adults 18-49 (from 1.3/04) and added +370,000 viewers (from 8.01m, +5%). 
 
CSI: NY was first in households (6.6/11), viewers (10.56m), second behind FOX’s football in adults 25-54 (2.6/07) and adults 18-49 (1.8/05).  Compared to the last first-run episode (on Dec. 2, 2011), CSI: NY was up +5% in households (from 6.3/10), +18% in adults 25-54 (from 2.2/06), +29% in adults 18-49 (from 1.4/04) and added +800,000 viewers (from 9.76m, +8%). 

BLUE BLOODS was first in households (7.2/12), viewers (11.34m), second behind FOX’s football in adults 25-54 (2.7/07) and adults 18-49 (1.8/05).  Compared to the last first-run episode (on Dec. 2, 2011), BLUE BLOODS was up +4% in households (from 6.9/12), +13% in both adults 25-54 (from 2.4/06) and adults 18-49 (from 1.6/05) and added +290,000 viewers (from 11.05m, +3%). 

— Sunday, CBS was first in households (14.5/22), viewers (25.16m), adults 25-54 (9.3/20) and adults 18-49 (8.0/19).  Compared to the same night last year (when CBS did not have the late running playoff game), CBS was up +130% in households, +200% in adults 25-54 and +264% in adults 18-49. 

CBS’s late-running AFC WILDCARD PLAYOFF GAME from 7:00-8:13 PM (Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos) posted a 27.5/43 with 49.84m viewers, 19.7/44 in adults 25-54 and 17.8/44 in adults 18-49.  The AFC WILDCARD POSTGAME from 8:13-8:19 PM delivered a 20.3/30 with 36.57m viewers, 14.1/30 in adults 25-54 and 13.0/31 in adults 18-49. 

60 MINUTES (8:18-9:18 PM) delivered a 10.9/16 with 18.07m viewers, 5.9/12 in adults 25-54 and 4.8/11 in adults 18-49, placing first in these measures in the 8:30-9:30 PM hour.  60 MINUTES posted its best delivers in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since Nov. 16, 2008.  60 MINUTES was up +63% in households, +136% in adults 25-54 and +220% in adults 18-49 compared to the same night last year (with a 7:00 PM start against the “NFC Wildcard Playoff Game”). 

THE GOOD WIFE (9:18-10:18 PM) delivered a 7.5/11 with 11.65m viewers, 3.7/08 in adults 25-54 and 2.7/06 in adults 18-49, winning the 9:30-10:30 PM hour in these measures.  THE GOOD WIFE scored season-best deliveries in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49. 

CSI: MIAMI (10:18-11:18 PM) was posted a 6.7/12 with 10.46m viewers, 3.4/08 in adults 25-54 and 2.6/07 in adults 18-49. CSI: MIAMI was first in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 from 10:30-11:00 PM.
