Week 19: The CW seeing more upward growth, 'Nikita' hot

Season to date, The CW is up more than any other broadcast network in total viewers (+6%, 2.14M) and in adults 18-49 (+11%, 1.0/3), while remaining steady among adults 18-34 (1.1/3), according to most current ratings through 1/30/11.


The CW returned from break with its most watched Tuesday of the season last week (2.02M) as HELLCATS moved to its new night and time on Tuesday nights. The CW also matched the night’s best performance of the season in adults 18-34 (1.2/4), women 18-34 (1.7/5) and adults 18-49 (0.9/3).

HELLCATS delivered the time period’s largest audience (2.2M) in nearly a year and a half (since 9/29/09), and matched the time period’s best demo performance of the season in women 18-34 (1.5/4), adults 18-34 (1.1/3) and adults 18-49 (0.9/2).  HELLCATS was also up 10% in adults 18-34 (1.1/3), up 14% in total viewers (2.2M) and up 13% in adults 18-49 (0.9/2) versus its last original episode on 12/1.

Facing American Idol on Fox for the first time, The CW’s return to originals gave the network its most watched Thursday since 11/4/10 (3.0M) last week, and its best adults 18-34 (1.4/4) and women 18-34 (1.8/5) ratings since 11/11/10. It was also the network’s best Thursday adults 18-49 rating since 10/28/10 (1.3/4).

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES had its best performance in adults 18-34 (1.8/5) and women 18-34 (2.3/7) since 11/11/10.  The show ranked #2 for the hour in women 18-34 (2.3/7).

Compared to its last original episode on 12/9/10, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES was up 4% in total viewers (3.3M), up 23% in adults 18-49 (1.6/4) and up 13% in adults 18-34 (1.8/5).

Nikita earned its best ratings among adults 18-49 (1.1/3) and women 18-49 (1.3/3) since 10/7/10.  NIKITA also delivered its most watched episode (2.6M viewers), and its best women 18-34 (1.3/4) and adults 18-34 ratings (1.0/3) since 10/21/10.

NIKITA was up 18% from its last original episode in women 18-34 (1.3/4), up 13% in total viewers (2.6M) and up 38% in adults 18-49 (1.1/3).
