CBS placed first in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 as THE 53RD ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS hit a high note, delivering its largest audience in 11 years and best demos since 2004, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Feb. 13, week 21 of the 2010-2011 television season.

THE 53RD ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS was the week’s #1 program in households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34. 

CBS had the top five scripted programs-NCIS, NCIS: LOS ANGELES, TWO AND A HALF MEN, THE MENTALIST and CRIMINAL MINDS-and nine of the top 20 programs in adults 18-49-more than any other network.  NCIS delivered more than 20 million viewers for the fourth consecutive broadcast.

For the week in viewers: CBS (13.10m), FOX (9.34m), ABC (6.87m) and NBC (5.73m).  Season-to-date: CBS (12.02m), FOX (9.42m), ABC (8.28m) and NBC (7.73m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in both adults 25-54 (4.3/11) and adults 18-49 (3.4/10).  Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.0/10) and second in adults 18-49 (3.0/08).

For the week in households: CBS (7.9/13), FOX (5.3/09), ABC (4.3/07) and NBC (3.6/06).  Season-to-date: CBS (7.3/12), FOX (5.3/09), ABC (5.2/09) and FOX (4.7/08). 

CBS Weekly Highlights:

THE 53RD ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS (S) (8:00-11:30 PM) posted a 14.8/25 with 26.67m viewers, 10.8/26 in adults 25-54, 10.0/27 in adults 18-49 and 9.5/28 in adults 18-34.  In the 8:00-11:00 PM time slot, CBS was first in these measures, beating the competition (NBC, ABC and FOX) combined in households (vs.10.8/18), viewers (vs. 17.24m), adults 25-54 (vs. 6.4/15), adults 18-49 (vs. 5.5/14) and adults 18-34 (vs. 4.7/14).   

— Compared to last year’s event (on Jan. 31, 2010 – outside the February sweep), CBS was up +3% in households (from 14.3/23), +2% in adults 25-54 (from 10.6/24), +1% in adults 18-49 (from 9.9/24), +4% in adults 18-34 (from 9.1/24) and added +800,000 viewers (from 25.87m, +3%).

— This was THE GRAMMY AWARDS best delivery in households, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 since 2004, and its largest audience since 2000.  CBS Research estimates that more than 61 million viewers watched all or part of THE 53RD ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS. 

  NCIS was first in households (12.1/19), viewers (20.35m) and adults 25-54 (5.8/14); it was second in adults 18-49 (4.2/12). 

  NCIS: LOS ANGELES was first in households (10.3/16), viewers (17.16m), adults 25-54 (4.9/12) and adults 18-49 (3.5/09). 

  THE GOOD WIFE was first in households (7.6/13), viewers (11.86m), adults 25-54 (3.4/09) and adults 18-49 (2.2/06).  Compared to last week, THE GOOD WIFE was up +6% in adults 25-54 (from 3.2/08), even in adults 18-49.

  TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in households (9.1/14), viewers (15.15m), adults 25-54 (6.0/14) and adults 18-49 (4.4/11). 

  MIKE & MOLLY was first in households (7.6/12), viewers (12.55m), adults 25-54 (4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (3.5/09). 

  HAWAII FIVE-0 was first in households (6.9/11), viewers (11.01m), adults 25-54 (3.8/10) and adults 18-49 (2.8/08). 

  CRIMINAL MINDS was first in households (8.2/13) and viewers (13.67m); it was second in adults 25-54 (4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10).  Compared to the last first-run broadcast (on Jan. 26, 2011), CRIMINAL MINDS was up +5% in households (from 7.8/12), +15% in adults 25-54 (from 4.1/10), +13% in adults 18-49 (from 3.2/08) and added +900,000 viewers (from 12.77m, +7%). 

  BLUE BLOODS won its time slot in households (7.3/12) and viewers (11.80m), finishing second in adults 25-54 (2.9/07, -0.1 behind NBC) and adults 18-49 (2.1/06) with its final Wednesday broadcast.  BLUE BLOODS was first in viewers in each of its four Wednesday broadcasts.  Compared to last week, BLUE BLOODS was up +3% in households (from 7.1/12), +12% in adults 25-54 (from 2.6/07), +31% in adults 18-49 (from 1.6/05) and added +490,000 viewers (from 11.31m, +4%).

  THE MENTALIST was first in households (9.0/16), viewers (14.86m), adults 25-54 (4.2/11) and adults 18-49 (2.9/08). 

  THE DEFENDERS was first in households (5.0/09) and viewers (7.91m); it was tied for first in adults 25-54 (2.0/06, with NBC).

  CSI: NY won its time slot in households (6.2/11), viewers (9.71m), adults 25-54 (2.5/07) and adults 18-49 (1.6/05).
