Week 32: Fox wins 18-49 for third week in a row

FOXFOX earned its third consecutive weekly victory among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens and delivered the week’s No. 1 shows in the core adult demo (AMERICAN IDOL), Adult 18-34 (FAMILY GUY) and Teens (GLEE).  Averaging a 2.3/7 in the core adult demo last week, FOX beat the No. 2 network (ABC) by a +15% margin among Adults 18-49 and by +38% among young adults.


Last week also marked the seventh consecutive week that AMERICAN IDOL has out-rated NBC’s The Voice among both Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers.

Season to date, FOX is averaging a 3.2/9 among Adults 18-49 and remains No. 1 in that core demographic as well as Adults 18-34 and Teens.  Key highlights from last week include:

FOX ranked No. 2 on Monday night among Adults 18-34 and placed third among Adults 18-49.

At 8pm, BONES posted a 2.2/6.  BONES improved by +3% from last week among Total Viewers (7.4 Mil vs. 7.2 Mil).

HOUSE followed with a 2.3/6, up 15% from last week in Adults 18-49 (4/16/12, 2.0/5) and up +16% in Total Viewers (6.5 vs. 5.6 Mil.)  HOUSE was the second-highest rated program of the night in Adults 18-34 (tie).

TUESDAY

FOX won Tuesday night among Adults 18-49 (tie), Adults 18-34, and Teens.  Among Adults 18-34, FOX outperformed NBC, the night’s No. 2 network, by +53% (2.3/8 vs. 1.5/5).  FOX has ranked No. 1 for 15 consecutive Tuesday nights among Adults 18-34.

At 8pm GLEE delivered a2.7/8, up 13% from last week (4/17/12, 2.4/8).  GLEE was the top program of the night among Teens and No. 2 in Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 (tie), and  won the 8pm hour among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens.

NEW GIRL followed at 9pm and posted a 2.6/7.  NEW GIRL was the No. 1 program of the night among Adults 18-34 and No. 2 in Teens.  In the 9pm half hour NEW GIRL was No. 1 among Adults 18-34 and Teens and placed second in Adults 18-49.

At 9:30pm an encore NEW GIRL posted a 1.4/4 among Adults 18-49.

WEDNESDAY

8:00-10:00   AMERICAN IDOL: (Adults 18-49: 4.8/14, 16.9 Mil Total Viewers)

FOX won Wednesday night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and all key demos. FOX beat its nearest competitor on the night by +140% among Adults 18-49 (4.8/14 vs. 2.0/6 for CBS) and +111% among Total Viewers (16.9 vs. 8.0 Mil for CBS).  FOX has now won 15 consecutive Wednesdays among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54, and Teens.

The ‘Top 6 Finalists Perform’ telecast of AMERICAN IDOL delivered a 4.8/14 with Adults 18-49.  AMERICAN IDOL outperformed Monday’s telecast of The Voice for the seventh straight week among Adults 18-49 (+26%) and for the twelfth straight week among Total Viewers (+64%).

AMERICAN IDOL was the No. 1 program of the night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 25-54, and Teens, outperforming the night’s second place program by +78% among Adults 18-49 (4.8/14 vs. 2.7/8 for CBS’ Survivor) and +72% among Total Viewers  (16.9 vs. 9.8 Mil for Survivor).

AMERICAN IDOL grew in its last half-hour vs. its first by +21% in Adults 18-49 (5.1 vs. 4.2) and +19% in Total Viewers (17.8 vs. 15.0 Mil).

THURSDAY

FOX ranked No. 1 on Thursday among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54, and Teens, outperforming its nearest competitor by +12% among Adults 18-49 (2.9/8 vs. 2.6/7 for CBS).  FOX has now ranked No. 1 for 15 consecutive Thursdays among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, and Teens.

AMERICAN IDOL (1 of 6 voted off) posted a 4.0/12 among Adults 18-49.  AMERICAN IDOL was the No. 1 program of the night among Total Viewers, Women 18-49 and Teens. IDOL outperformed the night’s No. 2 program by +17% among Total Viewers (14.9 vs.12.7 Mil for CBS’ Person of Interest).

The AMERICAN IDOL results show outperformed The Voice’s performance show on Monday by +5% among Adults 18-49 (4.0/12 vs. 3.8/10) and +45% among Total Viewers (14.9 vs. 10.3 Mil) and outperformed The Voice’s results show on Tuesday by +18% among Adults 18-49 (4.0/12 vs. 3.4/9) and +67% among Total Viewers (14.9 vs. 8.9 Mil).

At 9pm, TOUCH delivered a 1.9/5.  TOUCH ranked No. 1 in its hour among Teens.

At 7pm an encore of THE SIMPSONS posted a 1.1/4 followed by an original THE CLEVELAND SHOW (1.5/5), which was up +25% from its last original. THE CLEVELAND SHOW won the 7:30pm half hour among Adults 18-34 and Teens and ranked No. 2 in Adults 18-49.

At 8pm, THE SIMPSONS posted a 2.3/7.  THE SIMPSONS won its half hour in Adults 18-34 and Teens and ranked second in Adults 18-49.

BOB’S BURGERS followed with a 1.9/5, and ranked No. 2 in its half hour among Adults 18-34 and Teens.

FAMILY GUY posted a 2.8/7, up +12% from its last original and won its half hour in Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens.

A special telecast of THE CLEVELAND SHOW closed the night with a 2.0/5.  THE CLEVELAND SHOW won the 9:30pm half hour in Adults 18-34 and Teens and ranked No. 2 in Adults 18-49.
