Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of June 6, 2011 to June 12, 2011


Univision was the #4 broadcast network in primetime among Adults 18-49, out-delivering CBS for the third consecutive week.

Univision ranked #1 on Friday night among Adults 18-34 for the 10th consecutive Friday and was #2 among Adults 18-49 airing two of the top three most watched programs on broadcast television with #1 “Triunfo del Amor” (Triumph of Love) and #3 “Teresa.” (ranked #2 among Adults 18-34)

Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every night last week among both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

Season-to-Date, Univision continues to post year-to-year primetime audience increases among Adults 18-49 (+8%) while the English-language broadcast networks are reporting audience declines (ABC -7%, CBS -8%, NBC -14%, and FOX -5%); Univision’s audience also increased among Total Viewers 2+ (+7%) and Adults 18-34 (+7%).

Compared to the same week a year ago, Univision’s audience continues to increase among Total Viewers 2+ (+11%), Adults 18-49 (+19%), and Adults 18-34 (+15%)
From 9PM to 11PM, Univision’s novela “Triunfo del Amor” garnered the #3 spot for the network this past week among Adults 18-49 and ranked #2 among Adults 18-34.

Airing “Teresa” from 8PM to 9PM, Univision ranked as the #3 broadcast network for the week among Adults 18-49 and #2 among Adults 18-34.

On Saturday night, “Sabado Gigante” (Giant Saturday) made Univision the #2 broadcast network for the night among Adults 18-34 (472,000) and #4 among Adults 18-49 (966,000).

In its second week of Copa Oro 2011, Univision aired Thursday night’s Cuba vs. Mexico match at 10PM ET and Sunday night’s Mexico vs. Costa Rica match at 8PM ET.  Both telecasts out delivered NBC’s coverage of the Stanley Cup Finals, Belmont Stakes, as well as Baseball on FOX among P2+, Adults 18-49, and Adults 18-34. Univision’s coverage of the 2011 Copa Oro to-date continues to outpace Copa Oro 2009 to-date performance among Total Viewers 2+ (+49%), Adults 18-49 (+52%), and Adults 18-34 (+51%). 

Airing Cuba vs. Mexico on Thursday, Univision ranked as #3 broadcast network for the night among Adults 18-49 (3.1 Million) and Adults 18-34 (1.8 Million) viewers.  The match attracted 4.9 Million Total Viewers 2+ and was the #2 program of the night among Persons 12-34, Adults 18-34, Men 18-34 and Men 18-49 ahead of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night” and “NBA Countdown” as well as FOX’s first-run telecast of “So You think You Can Dance.”

Sunday Night’s Mexico victory over Costa Rica boosted Univision to the #2 spot among Adults 18-49 (2.9 Million) and Adults 18-34 (1.7 Million).  Averaging 4.5 Million Total Viewers 2+, the match ranked #3 for the night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 surpassing ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night 6” and “NBA Countdown GM #6”, NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” as well as CBS’s “Tony Awards” telecast.
