Week 44: Univision builds strength in 18-49 and young adults


Univision is #1 Broadcast Network in the Country inOverall Prime Among ALL Adults 18-34. Univision Highlights – NPM Broadcast Prime Week of 07/19/10. Univision finished the week as the #1 broadcast network in overall prime among Adults 18-34 (1,073,000).  Over the past six weeks (06/14 to 07/25/10) Univision has been the #1 network in broadcast prime among Adults 18-34 (1,083,000); beating its closest competitor FOX by 13,000 young adults.

 Among Adults 18-49 (1,844,000) and Teens 12-17 (189,000) the network took the #3 position, out-delivering CBS, NBC and CW.
 For the past eight consecutive weeks Univision has remained the #1 network among Kids 2-11 (478,000) and ranks #5 among Total Viewers 2+ (3.5 million).

Last week, Univision out-delivered ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX every night among Adults 18-34 and Teens 12-17, on 6 out of 7 nights among Adults 18-49 and on 3 out of 7 nights among Total Viewers 2+.

 Univision had 9 of the Top 20 Programs of the week among Adults 18-34 and 4 out of the Top 20 among Adults 18-49 and Teens 12-17.

 For the week, Univision saw increases  compared to the same week a year ago across Total Viewers 2+ (+19%), Adults 18-49 (+16%) , Adults 18-34 (+20%) and Adults 25-54 (+15%).

On Thursday night, Univision was the #1 most-watched broadcast network in primetime among  Adults 18-49 (2.4 million) and Adults 18-34 (1.4 million); beating its closest competitors  ABC by +7% and FOX by +36%, respectively.  Additionally, on this night Univision had the top two rated programs of the night with #1 “Soy Tu Dueña” (Woman of Steel) and #2 “Hasta Que El Dinero Nos Separe” (For Love or Money) among Adults 18-34.

The Friday night leader was Univision among Adults 18-34 (1.2 million) and Teens 12-17 (214,000); taking the #1 network position in primetime and the #2 network among Adults 18-49 (2.0 million).

On Friday, the three most-watched programs of the night among Adults 18-34 were Univision’s #1 “Soy Tu Dueña” (Woman of Steel), #2 “Hasta Que El Dinero Nos Separe” (For Love or Money) and #3 “La Rosa de Guadalupe” (The Rose of Guadalupe).  Additionally, among Adults 18-49 Univision’s novela “Soy Tu Dueña” (Woman of Steel) was the #1 program on Friday night.

Univision’s “Hasta Que El Dinero Nos Separe” (For Love or Money) made Univision the #1 network in the M-F/8pm hour among Adults 18-34 (1.4 million) and the #2 network, behind ABC, among Adults 18-49 (2.4 million), Women 18-34 (739,000) and Teens 12-17 (212,000).

Univision’s hit novela at 9pm, “Soy Tu Dueña” (Woman of Steel), helped the network capture the #1 spot  in the hour among Adults 18-49 (2.9 million), Adults 18-34 (1.7 million), Women 18-34 (878,000)  and Teens 12-17 (300,000).  Additionally, the novela delivered 5.3 million Total Viewers 2+ to take the #4 rank in the 9pm hour; beating FOX and CW.

For three consecutive nights (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) Univision’s “Soy Tu Dueña” (Woman of Steel) was the most-watched broadcast program among Adults 18-34.
At 10pm, Univision took the #2 position for the week with its strong checkerboard programming among Adults 18-34 (863,000), Women 18-34 (459,000) and Teens 12-17 (176,000); beating ABC and CBS.
“Sábado Gigante” (Giant Saturday) made Univision the #1 ranked network on Saturday night among Adults 18-34 (585,000), Teens 12-17 (104,000) and ranked #3 among Adults 18-49 (1.1 million).

Sunday night’s “Desafío: La Gran Batalla” helped Univision attain the #3 ranking in the 8-10pm time period among Adults 18-34 (543,000); beating ABC & NBC.  For the night, the reality program also delivered more Adults 18-34 than ABC’s “Scoundrels,” “The Gates;” and NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” among other programs.
