Week 48: Univision continues strong summer w/ 18-34 demo

Univision was the #2 broadcast network in primetime among Adults 18-34, out-delivering ABC (+51%), NBC (+20%), and CBS (+52%) for the second consecutive week.


Univision was the #4 broadcast network in primetime among Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC (+10%.)

Univision out-delivered two or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every night last week among Adults 18-34; Univision also out performed one or more English- Language broadcast networks on every night last week among Adults 18-49.

Univision aired 7 of the top 20 programs among Adults 18-34 this past week.

Led by “Fuerza del Destino,” Univision ranked as the #1 broadcast network for the week from 9PM to 10PM among Adults 18-34 and ranked #2 among Adults 18-49.

From 8PM to 9PM airing “Teresa”, Univision ranked as the #2 broadcast network for the week among Adults 18-34 and ranked #4 among Adults 18-49.

During the summer months, Univision ranks as the #1 broadcast network among Adults 18-34 beating FOX (+4%), ABC (+9%), NBC (+30%), and CBS (+91%.) Univision also posts year-to year audience increases among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers 2+. 

Thus far in 2011, Univision continues to be the #3 broadcast network averaging more Adults 18-34 viewers than CBS (+14%) and NBC (+16%).

Season-to-Date, Univision continues to post year-to-year primetime audience increases among Adults 18-49 (+7%) while the English-language broadcast networks are reporting audience declines (ABC -8%, CBS -8%, NBC -11%, and FOX -5%); Univision’s audience also increased among Total Viewers 2+ (+6%) and Adults 18-34 (+4%).

In its third week on air, “La Fuerza Del Destino” posted its highest weekly performance to-date among Total Viewers 2+ (4.5 million), Adults 18-49 (2.4 million), and Adults 18-34 (1.4 million), The novela also rank as the top-rated program for the second consecutive Friday among Adults 18-49 (2.5 million) and Adults 18-34 (1.4 million.)  Furthermore, the most recent telecast (Friday 8/19/11) was the novela’s highest-rated telecast since its debut on 08/02/2011 averaging 4.7 million Total Viewers 2+ and second-highest among Adults 18-49 (2.5 million).

Univision was the #1 network on Friday night among Adults 18-49 and for the 20th consecutive Friday among Adults 18-34.

Univision aired the top 3 programs for the night among Adults 18-34 including the #1 program for the night, “Fuerza del Destino” (The Power of Destiny,)  #2 ranked “Teresa,” and #3 ranked “Rosa de Guadalupe.” Univision’s entire primetime line up delivered more Adult 18-34 viewers than the “NFL Game” on FOX, ABC’s “20/20;” CBS’ “Flashpoint;” NBC’s “Friends With Benefits” and “Dateline.”

Univision’s entire prime line up ranked among the top five programs among Adults 18-49 including the #1 program for the night, “Fuerza del Destino” (The Power of Destiny,)  #3 ranked “Teresa,” and #4 ranked “Rosa de Guadalupe.”

On Saturday night Univision was the #1 network among Adults 18-34 attracting more viewers than FOX (+5%), ABC (+39%), CBS (+44%), and NBC (+20%.)

Univision’s “Sabado Gigante” (Giant Saturday) was the #3 program for the night among Adults 18-34 and ranked among the top 10 programs for the night among Adults 18-49.
Univision clinched the #1 spot on Wednesday night averaging more Adult 18-34 viewers than FOX (+174%), ABC (+68%), CBS (+9%), and NBC (+26%.)

On Thursday night, Univision ranked as the #2 broadcast network among Adults 18-34 beating ABC, NBC, and CBS. Univision aired the #3 (Teresa) and #4 (Fuerza del Destino) top ranked programs among Adults 18-34.

At 10PM, Univision premiered the third installment of “Mujeres Asesinas.” Compared to the prior week, “Mujeres Asesinas” increased the time period by double-digit margins, among Total Viewers 2+ (+13% to 2.0 million), Adults 18-49 (+10% to 1.1 million), and Adults 18-34 (+14% to 665,000). 

On Sunday night, Univision ranked as the #3 network among Adults 18-34. Audiences continue to tune in to Univision’s talent competition “Pequeños Gigantes” (Little Giants), the #4 program Sunday night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

Led by the continued success of Pequeños Gigantes, Univision was the #1 network among Kids 2-11 and #2 ranked among Teens 12-17 for the entire week.
