Week 8: Univision No. 4 network among adults 18-34

Out-Delivering CBS by +6%. Univision was #1 among Adults 18-34 on Thursday and Friday, and #1 among Adults 18-49 on Friday


Univision was the #4 Network last week among Adults 18-34, out-delivering CBS by +6%.

Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) every night last week among Adults 18-34 and on five out of seven nights among Adults 18-49.

Thus far in 2011, Univision is the #2 broadcast network among Adults 18-34, averaging more viewers in this demographic than ABC (+1%), CBS (+11%), and NBC (+6%).

Hosted by Lucero and Cristian De La Fuente, Univision aired the 12th annual “Latin Grammy Awards” on Thursday night.  The three hour live broadcast featured special honoree Shakira and included musical performances from Alejandra Guzman, Calle 13, Demi Lovato, Marc Anthony, and Pitbull.

Made Univision the #1 broadcast network for the second consecutive year among Adults 18-34 and helped Univision rank #4 among Adults 18-49.

Attracted 5.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 3.1 million Adults 18-49, and 1.9 million Adults 18-34.

The telecast was the 4th highest-rated program that night delivering more Adult 18-34 viewers than ABC’s “Charlie’s Angels” and “Private Practice;” NBC’s “Community,” “Parks and Recreation,” “Whitney” and “Prime Suspect;” FOX’s “The X-Factor Results” and “Bones” as well as CW’s mid-season finales of “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Secret Circle.”

Ranked among the top 10 programs for the night, the “Latin Grammys” delivered more Adult 18-49 viewers than ABC’s “Charlie’s Angels,” NBC’s “Community,” “Parks and Recreation,” “Whitney” and “Prime Suspect;” as well as CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Secret Circle.”

Univision was the #1 network Friday night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

“Familia Con Suerte” ranked as the #1 program for the night among Adults 18-34 and #4 among Adults 18-49.  The 8PM novela delivered 3.6 Million Total Viewers 2+, 2.1 Million Adults 18-49, and 1.2 Million Adults 18-34.

At 9PM 3.2 Million Total Viewers 2+ tuned in as Mexico defeated Serbia (2-0) on Univision.  The two hour soccer match also attracted 2 million Adults 18-49 and 1.1 million Adults 18-34 and ranked among the top 5 programs for the night in those demographics.

2011 to-date, Univision is the top pick on Friday nights among Adults 18-34, ranking #1   91% of the time (42 out of 46 weeks). Furthermore, in the current season Univision has been the #1 Network on Friday nights 7 out of 8 weeks for the demographic.

On Sunday night the semi-finals of “¡Mira Quién Baila!” increased its audience compared to the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (4.4 Million, +15%), Adults 18-49 (2.2 Million, +12%), and Adults 18-34 (1.1 Million, +18%.) The telecast ranked among the top 10 programs for the night among Adults 18-34 and among top 15 for Adults 18-49.  The second season continues to outpace its prior season performance among Total Viewers 2+ (+4%), Adults 18-49 (+4%) and Adults 18-34 (+9%).

“Aqui Y Ahora” ranked within the top 15 programs on Tuesday night among both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.  The one-hour telecast built its audience versus the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (2.6 million, +9%) and Adults 18-49 (1.3 million, +4%.)
