CBS is Only Network to Post Year-to-Year Growth in Adults 18-49

Season-to-Date, CBS is First in Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 with Across-the-Board Year-to-Year Growth

CBS swept the week in viewers and key demographics as the Network’s scripted programs dominated the adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and viewer rankings, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Nov. 20.

CBS won four nights in adults 18-49 (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) with 10 of the top 12 scripted series:  TWO AND A HALF MEN (#2), THE BIG BANG THEORY (#3), 2 BROKE GIRLS (#4), HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (#5), MIKE & MOLLY (#6), NCIS (#7), CRIMINAL MINDS (#8), RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (#9), NCIS: LOS ANGELES (#11) and HAWAII FIVE-0 (#12).

CBS also won four nights in viewers (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) with 18 of the top 20 scripted programs:  NCIS (#1), NCIS: LOS ANGELES (#2), THE BIG BANG THEORY (#3), TWO AND A HALF MEN (#4), CRIMINAL MINDS (#6), BLUE BLOODS (#7), THE MENTALIST (#8), MIKE & MOLLY (#9),  2 BROKE GIRLS (#10), HAWAII FIVE-0 (#11), PERSON OF INTEREST (#12), UNFORGETTABLE (#13), RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (#14), CSI (#15), HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (#16), CSI: NY (#17), THE GOOD WIFE (#18), and CSI: MIAMI (#20).

For the week in viewers, CBS (11.44m) beat ABC (9.55m), NBC (6.80m) and FOX (6.22m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in both adults 25-54 (3.8/09) and adults 18-49 (2.9/08).  CBS was the only network to post year-to-year growth in adult 18-49, up +7% (2.9/08 from 2.7/08) compared to the same week last year.

For the season, CBS is first in viewers (12.99m), up +2%; adults 18-49 (tie 3.4/09) up +3% and adults 25-54 (4.5/11) up +5% compared to last year.
 
CBS is also expected to win its 11th consecutive November sweep in viewers.

CBS Weekly Highlights:

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was first in adults 25-54 (5.0/12), adults 18-49 (4.6/12) and adults 18-34 (4.3/13) and second in both households (6.4/10) and viewers (10.42m).  Compared to last week, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was up +3% in households (from 6.2/09), +2% in adults 25-54 (from 4.9/11), +5% in adults 18-49 (from 4.4/12), +8% in adults 18-34 (from 4.0/12), and added +140,000 viewers (from 10.28m, +1%). 

2 BROKE GIRLS was first in adults 25-54 (5.6/12), adults 18-49 (4.8/12), adults 18-34 (4.0/11), second in households (7.0/10) and viewers (11.77m).  2 BROKE GIRLS posted its best deliveries in viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 since its Sept. 19, 2011 series premiere.

TWO AND A HALF MEN (9:00-9:31PM) was first in adults 25-54 (6.5/14), adults 18-49 (5.4/13), adults 18-34 (3.9/10), second in both households (8.8/13) and viewers (14.77m). 

MIKE & MOLLY was first in adults 25-54 (5.5/12), adults 18-49 (4.4/10), adults 18-34 (2.8/07), second in both households (7.4/11) and viewers (12.18m).  MIKE & MOLLY posted its best deliveries in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since its Sept. 26, 2011 season premiere. 

HAWAII FIVE-0 was first in adults 25-54 (4.3/10), adults 18-49 (3.3/08), adults 18-34 (1.9/05), second in both households (7.4/12) and viewers (11.71m).  HAWAII FIVE-0 posted its best deliveries in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since the season two premiere (on Sept. 19, 2011) and best adults 18-34 rating since Oct. 17, 2011. 

NCIS was first in households (12.3/19), viewers (20.00m), adults 25-54 (5.7/14) and adults 18-49 (4.0/11) for the ninth consecutive week. 

NCIS: LOS ANGELES was first in viewers (15.15m), adults 25-54 (4.7/11), adults 18-49 (3.4/08) and second in households (9.4/14) for the third consecutive week. 

UNFORGETTABLE was first in households (7.4/12), viewers (11.37m), adults 25-54 (3.4/08) and adults 18-49 (2.4/07). 

SURVIVOR: SOUTH PACIFIC was first in households (7.0/11), viewers (11.60m), adults 25-54 (4.6/11) and second in adults 18-49 (3.3/09).  Compared to last week, SURVIVOR: SOUTH PACIFIC was up +8% in households (from 6.5/10), +7% in adults 25-54 (from 4.3/11), +3% in adults 18-49 (from 3.2/09) and added +800,000 viewers (from 10.80m, +7%). 

CRIMINAL MINDS was first in households (8.0/12), viewers (12.72m), third in adults 25-54 (4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (3.7/09).  Compared to last week, CRIMINAL MINDS was up +13% in households (from 7.1/11), +9% in both adults 25-54 (from 4.3/10) and adults 18-49 (from 3.4/09) and added +1.36m viewers (from 11.36m, +12%). 

CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (6.8/11), viewers (10.60m), adults 25-54 (3.4/08) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (2.6/07, with ABC). 

THE BIG BANG THEORY was first in households (9.1/14), viewers (15.06m), adults 25-54 (6.5/17), adults 18-49 (5.3/15) and adults 18-34 (4.0/13). 

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT was first in households (6.5/10), viewers (10.90m), adults 25-54 (4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10).  Compared to last week, RULES OF ENGAGEMENT was up +2% in adults 25-54 (from 4.6/11) and +3% in adults 18-49 (from 3.5/09). 

PERSON OF INTEREST was first in households (7.1/11), viewers (11.65m), adults 25-54 (3.7/08) and second in adults 18-49 (2.6/07, -0.1 behind FOX). 

THE MENTALIST was first in households (7.6/13), viewers (12.21m), adults 25-54 (3.5/09) and second in adults 18-49 (2.5/07, -0.2 behind ABC).  

A GIFTED MAN was first in households (5.4/09), viewers (8.24m), adults 25-54 (2.0/06) and second in adults 18-49 (1.3/04, -0.1 behind FOX).  A GIFTED MAN posted its best adults 25-54 performance since Oct. 21, 2011, best adults 18-49 ratings since the series premiere on Sept. 23, 2011. 

CSI: NY was first in households (6.4/11), viewers (9.97m), adults 25-54 (2.4/06) and adults 18-49 (1.7/05).  Compared to last week, CSI: NY was even in households, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

BLUE BLOODS was first in households (7.6/13), viewers (12.41m), adults 25-54 (3.0/08) and adults 18-49 (2.0/06).  Compared to last week, BLUE BLOODS was up +9% in households (from 7.0/13), +15% in adults 25-54 (from 2.6/07), +18% in adults 18-49 (from 1.7/05) and added +1.11m viewers (from 11.30m, +10%). 

— CBS’s late running football from 7:00-7:26PM posted a 17.8/29 with 29.61m viewers, 11.2/28 in adults 25-54 and 9.7/28 in adults 18-49.
