The Commerce Department reported a strong gain in new home sales for March. Also, generally good corporate earnings reports kept stock traders in a buying mood. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 70 points on Friday, or 0.6%, to spend the weekend at 11,204. Broadcasting stocks also had another up day.
The RBR Radio Index was up 9.159, or 2.4%, to 388.967 – another all-time high.
The TVBR Television Index was up 7.801, or 3.7%, to 221.007 – also an all-time high.
