As RBR+TVBR readers may recall, “TV-49 Inc.” is an entity tied to Norman Shapiro’s Weigel Broadcasting Co.
In fall 2017, it acquired the channel-sharing agreement that allows KAZA-TV in Los Angeles to keep broadcasting in a post-Spectrum Auction repack universe. It then snapped up St. Louis, Seattle and San Francisco stations and in 2019 snagged The CW Network affiliation for a Chicago property while also adding a Denver station.
Now, Weigel’s TV-49 is set to become the licensee of a Hartford LPTV property.
