Nothing official yet, but it’s not looking like Rudy Giuliani will be the one that Westwood One signs to replace Bill O’Reilly starting in March (12/18/08 RBR #246). Instead, it will most likely be Republican Presidential contender Fred Thompson—the deal is much closer to being done than Guiliani. Our Westwood source says they are trying to get the deal done “before people take off for the Holidays.” It should be today or tomorrow. Does Thompson have the heart to do long-form Talk Radio? We’ll see in an upcoming interview. His show will originate from DC, where Thompson lives.
