Westwood One details coverage of Olympics

Westwood One presents the 2008 Summer Olympic Games live from Beijing, China beginning Friday, August 8 through Sunday, August 24, 2008. Westwood One, the official radio network of the Olympic Games for the past three decades, will provide live updates three times per hour, 24 hours a day and will offer exclusive, live play-by-play coverage of Summer Olympic events including Basketball, Track and Field, Swimming, Gymnastics, and more.

Westwood One’s long-form coverage, “Olympic Roundup”, airs live nightly from 10:00 p.m. – Midnight ET, re-airing from 10:00 p.m. – Midnight PT for West Coast Stations and features recaps and previews of Olympic events, interviews with athletes and play-by-play coverage. “Olympic Roundup” will be hosted by Westwood One’s Steve Mason and Justin Kutcher. There will also be three short-form updates per hour.  Coverage can be heard on such station as: WFAN-AM and WEPN-AM in New York, KLAC-AM and KSPN-AM in Los Angeles, WSCR-AM in Chicago, KTCT-AM San Francisco, WEEI-AM in Boston, WCNN-AM in Atlanta, KTCK-AM in Dallas, and more.

In addition, Westwood One will provide special play-by-play coverage of Team USA Men’s Basketball Medal Round games, as well as the Gold Medal game regardless of the participants. Kevin Kugler will be handling the Men’s Basketball play-by-play duties. Other play-by-play commentators and analysts include: two-time Olympic Gymnastic Gold Medalist Peter Vidmar, Olympic Historian David Wallechinsky, veteran Olympic reporters Jim Gray, Steve Futterman and Joe Tolleson.
