It’s a multi-year contract extension with The Weather Channel for ad sales representation. The renewal runs through 2016. The Weather Channel provides daily, customized cross-platform weather reports to individual radio stations around the country giving up-to-the-minute information on local weather or critical storm warnings. The Weather Channel also provides weather report information from the field during WestwoodOne’s NFL broadcasts and weather information for all upcoming matchups around the league.
“We are delighted to continue our partnership with The Weather Channel and to represent its superior brand across the radio community,” says Paul Caine, WestwoodOne CEO. “Weather is a hugely covetable component in the audio space, and serves as a critical resource for listeners. In fact, we have found that listeners are more likely to tune or tap in for weather information than most all other content. We are happy to know we can continue to provide our listeners access to the best weather information available.”
