Westwood One said that upon its January 24th debut, Douglas Urbanski will be heard on Cumulus Media stations in 18 markets nationwide. “Urbanski,” the three-hour daily talker, will air Monday-Friday from Westwood One studios in LA.

Here’s how Urbanski describes his show: “First and foremost, it’s entertainment (but) we’re going to deliver conservative thought, well articulated, with a lot of humor thrown in.”

RBR-TVBR asked Dennis Green, Westwood One EVP/Affiliate Sales about the general pace of affiliate growth: “We are in the process of pitching the show and expect to have a nice number of stations at launch and steady growth thoughtout 2011 as we build the next big talk radio story with Urbanski.”

Urbanski is already familiar to millions having guest hosted for Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, Dennis Miller, Laura Ingraham, Fred Thompson, Michael Savage and others. He recently gained widespread acclaim for his portrayal of President Obama’s former Director of the White House National Economic Council, Larry Summers, in the 2010 hit movie, The Social Network.

Urbanski has received recognition in talk radio and entertainment where he has won awards for his theatrical productions on Broadway and London’s West End, took home a British Academy Award for Best Picture, has produced Academy Award nominated films, and as a talent manager, represented major artists associated with three of the biggest franchise pictures in history: the Harry Potter series, the Batman series, and the Crocodile Dundee series. Currently, Urbanski is in London serving as Executive Producer of the film version of John LeCarre’s cold war spy thriller, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, starring Gary Oldman and Colin Firth, to be released in 2011.

  1. What a surprise! Gutsy undertaking in today’s Hollywood. Any plans for Cumulus Media extending their reach into the metro Phoenix area?
