WGY Director of News and Programming Chuck Custer said, “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our listeners”.   River Program Director Randy McCarten added, “The River listeners stepped up once again for another worthy cause.  We greatly appreciate their kindness.”

This was WGY’s 12th annual radiothon for the hospital, which is associated with the Children’s Miracle Network, and the first year The River has participated. The stations broadcast a total of 37 hours on June 4, 5 and 6th, which included live shows from the hospital, Route 7 Diner in Latham and Crossgates Mall.  This year’s radiothon was presented by Price Chopper.

WGY was among the original group of participating stations when the Children’s Miracle Network launched its national radiothon program in 1999.
