What’s Next For The Internet As ‘Net Neutrality’ Is Neutered?

1

Despite all of the political theater, a “brief recess” as Chairman Ajit Pai delivered his statement due to security concerns, and dramatic dissents from Democratic FCC Commissioners Mignon Clyburn and Jessica Rosenworcel, the Commission today in a 3-2 vote approved an Order that in the GOP majority’s view “restores Internet Freedom” by removing Title II classification of broadband internet access service after two years.

This will bring an end to “net neutrality” some 30 days after the Order is published in the Federal register, bringing back the prior classification of broadband as an information service … unless Congress or the courts step in.
