WKCJ-FM is licensed to Ronceverte, West Virginia, but it has a CP to move to Elliston-Lafayette VA, which will get its signal into a portion of western Virginia’s Roanoke-Lynchburg market. Mel Wheeler Inc. is buying it to add to its cluster in the market.

The seller is Radio Greenbrier LLC, headed by Todd P. Robinson and Michael J. Kidd. Leonard E. Wheeler is in charge of the buyer.

The station will transfer for $675K cash, according to Bill Whitley of Media Services Group, who brokered the deal for the seller.

Wheeler’s other stations in the market include WFIR-AM, WVBE-AM, WSLQ-FM, WXLK-FM and WSLC-FM, all licensed to Roanoke; and WVBE-FM Lynchburg.

WKCJ is a Class A currently authorized for 1 kW @ 801’ out of Ronceverte WV. It’ll add power, lose height, and add coverage of the Roanoke portion of the market after its move to Elliston-Lafayette. It’ll remain on 97.7 MHz, with 6 kW @ 141’.
