Who’s Replacing Les Vann As WHNS VP/GM?


Les Vann has retired as VP/GM of Meredith Corp.’s FOX affiliate in Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C.

We now know who is filling his shoes at the station.

Charlie Henrich Jr. will now lead WHNS-TV, as of June 3.

“Charlie has more than 20 years of experience in local television management, operations, and has done a tremendous job encouraging ratings and revenue growth,” said Meredith Local Media Group President Pat McCreery. “We are excited to welcome Charlie to Meredith and WHNS.”

Henrich most recently served as GM of KMEG-TV and KPTH-TV in Sioux City, Iowa.

Before that, he was in Southwest Florida, where he served as VP/GM of WFTX-TV in Fort Myers-Naples from 2013-2016.

Before that, he was Vice President of Operations for Newport Television, overseeing stations in six markets including Jacksonville; Memphis; Mobile; Rochester, N.Y.; Syracuse; and Tulsa from 2008-2013.

He began his career in television sales as a local account executive at KTVF-TV in Fairbanks, Ala., in 1991.

Meredith’s Local Media Group includes 17 television stations across the U.S.
