Veteran Philadelphia and Florida radio and TV executive William H. Vogt has died at age 90. Private family funeral services took place on Thursday (11/17).

Vogt’s TV career was long ago, in the sales department of WFIL-TV Philadelphia from 1950 to 1954. His son, William C. Vogt, told the Philadelphia Inquirer that his father then switched to radio at WDAS-AM (with the FM added during his tenure), working his way up to VP/GM. That was his first stint at WDAS from 1954 to 1965. He came back to run the station from 1975 until his retirement in 1986.

In between his WDAS tours Vogt worked at WIBF-FM Philadelphia and at stations in Miami and Pensacola, FL.
