WJSJ flips in Jacksonville

WJSJ-FM Fernandina Beach/Jacksonville, FL has flipped (8/5) to an Adult Hits format, after stunting with Christmas music. It used to air “Caliente 105.3,” a Tropical format with emphasis toward Salsa and Reggaeton, and before that, Smooth Jazz.

“105.3 The Mix” is mostly playing songs from the mid 70’s to mid 90’s: Average White Band, Billy Ocean, Lionel Richie, INXS, Joe Cocker & Sugar Ray on the way in.

The tag lines do imply a bit of Urban AC/Old School, however. The station has been sporting liners such as: 105.3 The Mix – Jacksonville’s Throwback Station; and 105.3 The Mix – Going Old School for You.

The station is currently in receivership, with Scott Savage being the licensee.
