As RBR+TVBR reported in November 2017, the future of the AM and FM stations in Upstate New York owned by a fiscally challenged owner and operator who sought Special Temporary Authority to keep an FM and an AM silent began to come to fruition.
Among the stations being traded was a Class C2 FM licensed a small town in New York’s Adirondack Mountains.
Nine months after the paperwork was filed for the transfer of control of this facility, the new owners have closed on their purchase.
Ted Morgan’s Saranac Lake Radio LLC now has officially parted ways with WNBZ-FM 106.3 in Saranac, N.Y.
The buyer: NBZ LLC, which is based in Plattsburgh, N.Y. It is headed by Amanda Dagley, the 51% owner, and Bill Dickerson, who has 49% ownership in the entity.
As reported on Nov. 28, 2016, by RBR+TVBR, they are paying $300,000 for WNBZ-FM; $120,000 is for equipment, with the remainder considered as “goodwill.”
Closing was confirmed August 6 by Patrick Communications, and broker of record Jason James.
Dagley has served as the Station Manager of WIRY-AM & FM in Plattsburgh, stations operated by Bill Santa’s Hometown Radio. WIRY-AM is owned by Hometown; WIRY-FM is operated by Hometown through an agreement with Randy Michaels-owned Radioactive LLC, which is the licensee.
Dickerson is also known for his involvement at WIRY, where he hosts a Sunday Oldies show from noon to 6pm.
