Al Blinke recently retired after a career in local broadcasting spanning more than 40 years. His most recent role was as VP/GM of Meredith Corp.’s CBS affiliate WNEM-5 in Saginaw, Mich.
Who is succeeding Blinke at the station?
Taking the role, effective Monday (1/22), is Julie Zoumbaris
“Julie was an instrumental member of the WNEM-5 sales team for more than a decade,” said Meredith Local Media Group EVP/Operations Patrick McCreery. “She is an exceptional leader with a strong record of growing market share and increasing revenue. We are excited to welcome Julie back to the Meredith family.”
Zoumbaris has most recently served as the Director of Sales for The E.W. Scripps Co.’s ABC affiliated WRTV-6 in Indianapolis.
She has also been Director of Sales at The CW affiliate in Indianpolis owned by Nexstar Media Group, WISH-8.
Zoumbaris has also held sales management positions at WDTN-TV in Dayton, and WEYI-TV in Flint, Mich., and earlier in her career spent 14 years at WNEM.
