Examiner.com reports Wolfgang’s Vault’s (www.wolfgangsvault.com) “Cracking the Vault Day” on Nov. 3 will include rare live shows. The announcement included only a few names to be featured — Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Grateful Dead, the Jefferson Airplane  and Miles Davis — but a spokesman Examiner the list of groups to be featured  — which they weren’t ready to release yet — is quite large — and will also include Janis Joplin and Santana. The Grateful Dead shows will take up an entire week.

To begin the festivities, on Wednesday the Vault released a Stevie Ray Vaughn concert from Philadelphia from 1983. Another Stevie Ray show from Austin in 1984 will be released today. The announcement indicated “a much larger offering” of Stevie Ray Vaughan shows will be included in the Nov. 3 rollout.

Wolfgang’s Vault, which began in 2003 with the personal archives of promoter Bill Graham, now includes 12 different collections, including the Bill Graham Archives, the King Biscuit Flower Hour, Ash Grove, Newport Jazz and more and features over 2,800 rare and exclusive concerts available for free streaming.
