CBS Radio’s WOMC-FM Detroit’s morning men Bobby Mitchell and Chuck Gaidica (The Bobby Mitchell Show with Chuck Gaidica) are hosting the station’s sixth annual Military Moms’ Luncheon on Veterans Day (11/11).  The luncheon is held annually to recognize and thank Michigan military moms whose sons and daughters are giving so much by serving our country.

Speakers at the luncheon will include Congressman Mike Rogers (Republican 8th District) and Military Documentary Producer Keith Famie.  The event will also include singing of the National Anthem and “God Bless America” performed by Julianne.  Registration for the invitation-only event is officially closed.

U.S. Representative Mike Rogers of Michigan serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence where he is Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Terrorism and Counterterrorism and Human Intelligence.  A Congressional expert in the rugged border area of Afghanistan and Pakistan, Rogers has traveled extensively with American intelligence officers and special operations forces in Southwest Asia and throughout the Middle East.

Keith Famie was for many years known as a celebrity chef and for being a finalist contestant on the CBS Television reality series Survivor; however, in 2004 he began producing human interest documentaries.  His Emmy winning documentary Detroit: Our Greatest Generation, is a salute to WWII veterans.  It aired on WDIV-TV4 and was the number one show that night. More recently, he has been involved with the production of Our Vietnam Generation, a film dedicated to the unsung heroes, the survivors of the Vietnam War, which will premiere at the Fox Theatre in Detroit on January 28, 2011.

The 104.3 WOMC Military Mom’s Luncheon is sponsored by Andiamo Italia (where it is being held), Kroger, Michigan Apple Growers, MB Jewelry Design, and Consumers Energy.
