WOMC radiothon collects nearly $1M for food bank

The annual 104.3 WOMC-FM (CBS Radio) one-day radiothon, held 2/14 in Detroit, raised a whopping $930,741. The effort benefited Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. That bested last year’s total of $377,177 and equals nearly 2.8 million meals for hungry people living in southeast Michigan. Considered one of the oldest and largest food banks in the country, Gleaners distributes more than 46 million pounds of emergency food each year.
