CBS Radio’s WOMC-FM Detroit is celebrating what would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday (10/9) with a “Bed-In” and “Give Peas a Chance” canned food drive at a local furniture store on 10/8 from 5am-7pm.  The station broadcasts live throughout the day starting at 5am with Bobby Mitchell dressed as John Lennon, Rachel Nevada as Yoko Ono and other members of the WOMC air staff dressed as The Beatles.  John “JT” Thomas will follow from 9am-3pm and Dave Fuller will wrap up the “Bed-In” from 3pm-7pm.

During the “Bed In” the station is also holding a “Give Peas a Chance” food drive.  All non-perishable foods will be accepted and donated to Gleaners Community Food Bank.  While supplies last, anyone donating canned food items will receive a limited edition WOMC tie dyed t-shirt.

Listeners can hear the WOMC John Lennon “Bed-in” broadcast on-air, online at www.womc.com and through mobile outlets including the iPhone, iPod Touch and select Blackberry devices.
