Tim Disa, Kovas Communications broker and spokesperson, announced that after 7 years of work and millions of dollars spent, Kovas Communications doubled the power 4/12 of AM 1590, licensed to Evanston, IL, to 7,000 watts. The WONX calls, in place for 30 years are now WCGO-AM. The result is a station that covers Chicago and reaches over 6 million people. The date would have been Kovas’ patriarch Frank Kovas’ 87th birthday – had he lived to see his dream come true (Frank passed away a few years ago while working on this project.)
