WOMMA, otherwise known as the Word of Mouth Marketing Association is currently holding its Summit 2011 in Las Vegas. It has representatives from a number of major advertisers and scheduled sessions featuring relevant experts.
It will be giving out a WOMMY Award to the best and brightest at a luncheon on Thursday 11/17/11. It will pick a winner among candidates in seven different categories.
Topics include the use of fascination science and social media. In fact, the National Football League will have representatives on hand to discuss how it used social media to blunt the negative affect of the 2011 player lockout.
Among the advertising corporations that will be represented are AT&T, ConAgra Foods, Converseon, Edelman, House Party, IBM, iCrossing, Intuit, Janrain, JCPenney, Keurig, Kia, McDonald’s, Nestle, NM Incite, Ogilvy, Pizza Hut, Sephora, The Hershey Company, Verizon Wireless, Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, Weber Shandwick, and others.
RBR-TVBR observation: Wouldn’t it have been cool if this summit had been marketed exclusively by word of mouth? Unfortunately, we learned about it from a press release.
