“Worse for women than Donald Trump”

Internet Address BarOne op-ed article on AL.com called the video “worse for women than Donald Trump,” criticizing its lack of diversity and calling it “reductive and objectifying.” Has Kim Kardashian been mud wrestling with Paris Hilton in St. Patrick’s Cathedral? Nope. The source of all the tension is a sorority recruitment video out of the University of Alabama.

Not surprisingly, the video – which features 72 young women in eye-catching attire frolicking about – lit up YouTube with a quick 700,000 views before being taken down. The sorority, Alpha Phi, isn’t talking, apparently, and the university is on the back-pedal, saying the video “is not reflective of UA’s expectations for student organizations to be responsible digital citizens.” (We’re all digital citizens now?) Naturally, the video has plenty of supporters too.

So be warned before you make that next recruitment vid: In cyberspace, everybody can see you stream.
