Emmis New York announced Gwynet Charles-Cowan has accepted the positon of Sales Manager of Events & Major Sponsorships. Charles-Cowan has been a member of the Emmis team for over 10 years, working as an Account Executive, Local Sales Manager, and Director of Incite. She has launched outreach programs for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, targeting key health initiatives such as HIV testing, teen mental health awareness, smoking cessation and more, and is notorious for closing big deals, specifically HOT 97’s Summer Jam sales, which, to date, have been the largest for the annual event. “Gwynet has demonstrated that she is a rainmaker, who understands the power and value that our events, such as HOT 97’s Summer Jam and WBLS & WLIB’s Circle of Sisters, bring to our sponsors,” states Doug James, Director of Emmis NY Sales. “We believe she is the perfect person to drive this business for Emmis New York.”
Emmis NY also hired Chris Osgood as the new Local Sales Manager for WQHT HOT 97 FM. Chris is a 26-year radio veteran, having worked in several major markets including Vitt Media International in New York City, KRBE and KLOL in Houston, and 750 WSB and 92.9 The Game in Atlanta. He is a former member and Chairman of the Radio Advertising Bureau’s Sales Advisory Committee, and owns his own concert production company and marketing consultation firm.
