“The Big Unit” Bill Michaels has been the voice of Wisconsin Sports Talk since March 1999. He most recently hosted shows on Journal’s WTMJ-AM Milwaukee (until April when the contract wasn’t renewed) and the statewide post game show on the Packers Radio Network. Now Entercom Milwaukee’s WSSP will add Michaels and launch his syndicated sports talk show both on 8/1.

“The Bill Michaels Show” will air live Monday through Friday 11am to 2pm on Sportsradio 1250 WSSP. In addition, the three-hour syndicated program will also air on Midwest Communications’ WNFL-AM, Green Bay and WHBL-AM, Sheboygan.

“Bill Michaels is a compelling host and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the starting lineup at Sportsradio 1250,” said Michael Keck, VP/Market Manager for Entercom Wisconsin.  “We’re also thrilled that our partners at Midwest Communications will be our first two statewide affiliates.”

Michaels was WTMJ’s top sports talk show host on “Sports Central,” and was the station’s sports director. He was replaced there by former Fox Sports and MLB.TV sports reporter and talker Trenni Kusnierek and WTMJ’s Greg Matzek.
