Greater Media Boston’s morning team Jim Braude and Margery Eagan can now be heard an hour earlier, weekdays on 96.9 FM Boston Talks from 6am to 10am starting 1/13. PD Grace Blazer tells RBR-TVBR the move will take Imus, who currently airs from 5-7, off of the station. Phil Hendrie will temporarily fill in through 6AM and a new announcement is expected soon.

“We’ve decided to go with live and local programming,” Blazer tells us. “Don Imus has done a great job for many years in Boston and New England. We’ve just decided to take the direction of providing more live and local programming in morning drive. But we think the world of Imus, he’s a legend.”

Eagan, a columnist at the Boston Herald for more than 12 years, is a graduate of Stanford University. Jim Braude, host of New England Cable News’ Broadside, is a University of Pennsylvania graduate, and received his law degree from New York University. He briefly ran for governor in 1994, and more recently served as a Cambridge, MA City Councilor.
