WWRL-AM changes lineup

Access.1 talker WWRL-AM NYC announced that Errol Louis, morning host for the past two years is leaving to join NY1 as anchor of “Inside City Hall.” Assuming Louis’ duties 11/8 is renowned journalist Mark Riley who currently anchors evening drive on ‘RL.  Mark, a consummate professional has an unequalled intimacy with New York politics:  “I’m honored to be asked to host the WWRL Morning Show.  I’ve got some big shoes to fill, but I’m excited to be on the air in morning drive.  WWRL’s listeners are a joy to interact with. I look forward to continuing the ‘RL tradition of informative, entertaining morning radio.”


Said WWRL management on Errol Louis: “His ascent is testament to his exceptional ability; we wish him all the best.”

In departing Louis says, “WWRL has been making great, cutting-edge radio for decades, and it has been an honor and a privilege to add my name to the list of broadcasters who helped build this beacon of informative, influential, honest talk radio. I will forever thank Adriane Gaines, general manager and Rennie Bishop, program director for giving me a great opportunity, and I look forward to collaborating with them again in the future.”

In addition, Randi Rhodes is back and taking over the evening slot.  As a Brooklyn native, New Yorkers are drawn to her authentic, no-nonsense personality.  Randi creates a sense of camaraderie through her intelligent humor and biting opinions, endearing her to listeners like a genuine, reliable friend.  “NEW YORK!  I missed you!  Thank you WWRL for bringing me back home,” stated Randi.

Other prominent talkers on ‘RL include Ed Schultz, Thom Hartmann, Al Sharpton, Bev Smith, Leslie Marshall and Phil Hendrie.
