WYBN-TV Albany is launching a public service initiative promoting voter registration that will air on their over-the-air signal in Albany, Saratoga, Schoharie, Greene, Columbia, Rensselaer northern Delaware, eastern Otsego counties and through carriage on Mid-Hudson Cable.

The Catskill Region’s newest over the air television station WYBN TV-14 and its management believe in the vital importance of voter participation. To that end WYBN is pleased to be able to offer, as a public service to their viewing area, a voter registration PSA initiative.

Located at 3,200 feet on the top of Windham Mountain, WYBN is the second highest TV tower in New York State. The station services an area that reaches a population of approximately 829,000 people, and includes 45,425 Hispanic households. Viewers have been verified at up to 60 miles from the tower.

Networks on the stations includes 14.3 Tuff TV, 14.1 American ONE, 14.2 Mexicanal, 14.4 AMG TV and guide channel 14.5.

With programming ranging from MMA, to classic movies, to children’s programming, to nuevo en español, WYBN-LD is a digital television station that operates with 15 kilowatts of power and is owned by Cable Ad Net New York, Inc.

Cable Ad Net New York CEO Dan Viles tells RBR-TVBR he will send the AVID file of the spot to any TV facility in the US & Possessions plus any cable system or interconnect that wants to run it: “We want to raise voter turnout by at least 5% or higher!” They’ll charge via PayPal a $25 processing fee–that is the only expense. Any interested facilities can email him at [email protected]
