Yanks and Angels good to Fox

The American League Championship series is heading to a sixth game – and perhaps the maximum seventh. That’s good news for Fox, which will see the bi-coastal battle between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers wrap up in weekend primetime.

The Yanks lead the series 3-2 as play returns to their home field, Yankee Stadium, on Saturday. The seventh game, if the Angels win Saturday, will be Sunday in New York.

For Fox, the series with teams from the nation’s two largest cities has meant strong ratings. More than 11 million people were watching during most half hours of Thursday night’s game five.

Once the ALC winner is decided, that team will host the National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies in game one of the 2009 World Series on Wednesday, October 28. All World Series games will also air on Fox.

Will it be another coast-to-coast battle, or an Amtrak series?
