A Positive Trading Day For Media Companies


The bulls are running on Wall Street, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 84.99, to 21,320.66, and the Nasdaq composite index advanced 44.90, to 6,220.37.

Among the top performers were Veritone, which gained 4.8%, to $12.90, and Hispanic media specialist Entravision. Shares in EVC were up 2.6%, to $6.18.

Cumulus Media also saw an uptick, rising 3.6%, to 52 cents.

Decliners include 20th Century Fox -Class A shares, which were down 2.4%, to $28.06.

Meanwhile, it was a wild trading session for streaming audio company Pandora. After dipping to $7.50 a share at 11:15am, the bargain seekers arrived, pushing Pandora stock upward to end the day in positive territory. At the Closing Bell, shares in P were up 0.9%, to $7.94. In after-hours trading, a 0.3% gain was already seen at 4:05pm Eastern.
