‘American Idol’ results show wins the Wednesday night

With a special encore LIE TO ME and the AMERICAN IDOL Top 6 results show, FOX won the night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos.  In fact, FOX outperformed its nearest competition for the night by +71% among Adults 18-49, +55% among Adults 18-34, +120% among Teens and +64% in Total Viewers.


At 8pm, an encore LIE TO ME posted a 1.7/5 among Adults 18-49 and ranked No. 2 in the time period among Adults 18-49 and No. 3 in Adults 18-34.

AMERICAN IDOL followed at 9pm with a 6.5/17, up +10% from last week among Adults 18-49 and +3% in Total Viewers

AMERICAN IDOL won the 9p hour among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos and showed advantages over its nearest competitors of +91% among Adults 18-49, +58% among Adults 18-34, +185% among Teens and +120% in Total Viewers.

Season to date (Most Current vs. comparable Most Current), IDOL is retaining 92% among Adults 18-49, 93% among Adults 18-34, 94% among Teens and 93% in Total Viewers.

IDOL’s Tuesday/Wednesday average this week beat Dancing With the Stars’ Mon/Tues average by +86% among Adults 18-49, +108% among Adults 18-34, +192% among Teens and +13% in Total Viewers.

Competition
ABC ran a repeat of The Middle (1.5/5) at 8p followed by original episodes of The Middle (2.4/7), Modern Family (4.1/11) and Cougar Town (2.8/7).  At 10p, new drama Happy Town (1.7/5) posted ABC’s lowest-rated series premiere of the season, falling -43% from Eastwick’s series debut in the time period this fall (3.0/8 on 9/23/09).

CBS’ The New Adventures Of Old Christine (1.4/5), a special Two & A Half Men (1.8/5), Criminal Minds (2.1/6) and CSI: NY (1.6/5) were all repeats.

Following a repeat Minute To Win It (1.5/5), NBC’s Mercy (1.4/4) and Law & Order: SVU (2.9/8) were both in line with their recent performances.
