Nancy Hill Interview:

RBR-TVBR exclusive: While gearing up for the next yearly 4A’s conference in San Francisco Feb. 28 through March 3, we caught up with CEO Nancy Hill to talk about that event, as well as some of the latest issues in the ad and media agency arena. At the beginning of the year in our annual RBR-TVBR Forecast from Association Presidents, Nancy told us that in late in 2009, 4A’s had issued a handful of papers and provided guidance to members to prepare for “bluer skies in 2010”. Indeed, most trades are now reporting that ad spend is starting to recover. What has Nancy seen with advertisers adjusting to the recovery and what does she predict for the rest of this year and next?

We also asked:

What are advertisers demanding from creative, planning and media agencies that may not have been the case 3-5 years ago?

Tell us about this year’s conference in San Francisco—“Transformation 2010” is the theme. Tell us a bit about that theme and who are some of the keynoters?

What would you say are the top three panel sessions “not-to-be-missed”?

You were named head of the AAAAs in February 2008. What have you learned since then about the business and what accomplishments have you made?

What’s next?

Is the AAAAs taking a stand on the Live Only, Live + 3, Live + Same Day controversy?

What is left for traditional broadcasters to learn about the value of their website and their online/mobile presence in general?
