A third sponsor is putting together a third beyond-the-Beltway public gathering to discuss the proposed merger of Comcast and NBC Universal. But although this is the third such event to be announced, it’ll be the second to take place.
This time the sponsor is the Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, and the Internet, headed by Rick Boucher (D-VA). The session is called “Comcast and NBC Universal: Who Benefits?”
The field hearing is on the schedule for Thursday 7/8/10 at Chicago’s Everett Dirksen Federal Building, and will kick off at 9AM Central. No word yet on panelists.
The FCC is holding a forum on the merger, also slated for Chicago, on Tuesday, 7/13/10.
The House Judiciary already hosted a session on the topic that took place 6/7/10.
