Cherry Creek spins orphaned El Centro AM

KSIQ-FM moved from Brawley CA to Campo CA, effectively becoming part of the San Diego market, and leaving KROP-AM all alone in the small inland El Centro-Mexicali market near the US border with Mexico. Owner Cherry Creek has found a taker for the AM.

KROP is also licensed under the legal name of CCR-Brawley IV LLC. It remains licensed to Brawley, a town just north of El Centro, which itself is just north of Mexico.

Cherry Creek, under Joseph Schwartz, will be selling the station to Lardog Communications LLC, headed by Teresa A. Goodspeed. The price is $250K, with $50K going into escrow and the balance paid in cash at closing.
