FOX’s animated comedies; ‘Family Guy’ holds against Olympics

FOX’s animated comedies were up across the board last night against competitor originals and the Winter Olympics:


At 8p THE SIMPSONS posted a 3.0/8 among Adults 18-49, up +15% from last week (2.6/7).  THE SIMPSONS ranked No. 2 in its half hour among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens and No. 1 in Men 18-34. 

THE CLEVELAND SHOW at 8:30p delivered a 2.8/7 among Adults 18-49, up +17% from last week (2.4/6) to rank third in the time period among Adults 18-49 and No. 2 in Adults 18-34 and Teens.

An encore FAMILY GUY at 9p posted a 3.1/7 among Adults 18-49.  

At 9:30p AMERICAN DAD posted a 2.8/6 and was up +12% versus last week in Adults 18-49 (2.5/6). 

At 7p a NASCAR over-run combined with TIL DEATH to deliver a 1.5/5, while at 7:30p TIL DEATH posted a 1.2/3.

FOX ranked No. 2 for the night among Adults 18-34 and Teens.

Competition
ABC’s America’s Funniest Home Videos (2.1/6) was on par while Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (2.5/6) was down -14% from its prior 8p average (2.9/7).  Desperate Housewives (3.7/8) matched its lowest original rating ever at 9p, falling -20% from its season average (4.6/11).  At 10p, Brothers & Sisters (2.5/7) was also low, dropping -19% from its prior performance this year (3.1/8).

On CBS, 60 Minutes posted a 1.8/5 and episode two of Amazing Race 16 (2.9/7) was on par with its debut (2.8/7).  Undercover Boss (4.8/11) fell from last week’s time period premiere (5.2/13) while Cold Case (2.3/6) was above average.

Night ten of NBC’s Vancouver Olympics delivered a 5.7/14 from 7-11p, about even with night ten of the most recent Winter Games in Torino, Italy (5.5/13 on 2/19/06) but down -19% from last Sunday’s telecast..  Through ten nights, the Vancouver Games are outperforming the 2006 Games among Adults 18-49 (7.0/20 vs. 6.2/16) and Total Viewers (25.7 vs. 20.4 Mil).
