NBC premiere 'The Biggest Loser 10' came in fourth Tuesday

From 8-10 p.m. ET, the premiere of “The Biggest Loser 10” delivered a 2.9/8 in 18-49 and 7.2 million viewers overall in a highly competitive time period that included Fox’s season premiere of “Glee” and series premieres of “Raising Hope” and “Running Wilde,” CBS’s season premieres of “NCIS” and “NCIS: Los Angeles” and ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.” 


From its first half-hour to its fourth, “The Biggest Loser” increased by 40 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.5 from a 2.5) and by 23 percent or more than 1.5 million persons in total viewers (8.1 million vs. 6.5 million).  By the 9:30-10 p.m. half-hour, “Biggest Loser” had risen to #2 among the major networks in adults 18-49 ahead of CBS’s “NCIS: Los Angeles” season premiere and Fox’s “Running Wilde” series debut.

At 10 p.m., “Parenthood” delivered a 2.5/7 in 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers overall against the second hour of CBS’s “NCIS: Los Angeles” season premiere and the series debut of ABC’s “Detroit 1-8-7.”  In the time period, “Parenthood” ranked #2 in adults 18-49 ahead of ABC’s “Detroit 1-8-7” premiere and #1 for the hour in women 18-34 and women 18-49 (tie).  “Parenthood” is up 9 percent versus NBC’s 2.3 average in the time period during the traditional 2009-10 season (non-sports, “live plus same day”).
