Dish Network is in the midst of its second major retrans impasse in recent days, and the company of the broadcast side of the negotiating table is, also for the second time, allowing its stations to stay on the lineup while talks continue.
According to Nexstar, this is the third time it has pushed back the deadline before making good on its tactic of last resort – taking its stations of Dish.
The new deadline is Wednesday 12/10/14, just before midnight.
Nexstar stated, “For over two months, Nexstar has been negotiating in good faith to establish a mutually agreeable contract with DISH and Nexstar remains hopeful that a resolution can be reached without a service interruption to viewers in affected markets.”
Nexstar claims a hand in 80 station in 46 markets, including those owned and operating and those for which it provides various services.
