Weigel Broadcasting’s Me-TV, distributed by MGM Television, has added an affiliate in San Antonio, TX. The nostalgic TV network will be carried on a digital channel of Post-Newsweek’s KSAT-TV (ABC).

The station will carry Me-TV beginning April 2nd over the air on channel 12.2 as well as on all local cable systems. Me-TV says it covers more than 77% of the country and has more than 120 affiliates.

Me-TV already has one Post-Newsweek affiliate, WPLG-TV (ABC) Miami. Interestingly, it signed earlier but won’t launch until April 24th.

  1. BRING ME-TV TO AUSTIN TEXAS!!!! Please. Because it is not the same since Retro Television’s demise. I am sure you can find a HD subchannel to place it on.

You got the classics from Bob Newhart, to Dick Van Dyke, and also add Trapper John MD to your lineup, MASH is good, but Pernell Robert’s spinoff was just as good.

  2. I agree with Will. Austin needs MeTv. I believe Nick at Nite was supposed to be like this when it started out, but now they air shows that are from a decade ago instead of when TV was in it’s infancy. With every other show on TV being a reality one these days…I think the baby boomers would appreciate a classic TV station like MeTv. Please…if San Antonio can get it, let’s see Austin find a local station to show it…even if it’s after 10 o’clock.

  3. It would be great if Austin added MeTV, Antenna TV or RTV but I’m not very hopeful. It seems 7 & 36 don’t want subchannels and 24 and 42 are going to stick with Spanish stations. Channel 54 would be a logical spot but all are slow about changing . I believe Austin is one of the largest markets that don’t carry any of those three.

  4. News came out in late January that channel 7 will have a subchannel called ‘Movies!’ It will start in the sping of 2013. Fox is teaming up with the same company that operates MeTV. It would be great if channel 7 would have MeTV on 7.3.
