NEW YORK — Univision Communications is partnering in the U.S. with the preferred social media platform of President Trump to better serve the Hispanic community.

It’s thanks to a new agreement with Twitter, which will span across Spanish-language sports, news and entertainment content. This collaboration includes Univision’s content for the 2020 U.S. Elections, select highlights of top soccer properties, and the buzziest real-time Red-Carpet events.

The official announcement was made at Twitter #NewFronts on Monday in New York.

The Univision and Twitter content deal may include live coverage and highlights for the 2020 Elections, select highlights from two of the world’s top soccer properties Liga MX and UEFA Champions League, Latin music award shows coverage of “Premios Juventud” (Youth Awards), Univision’s celebration of youth culture, and “Premio Lo Nuestro” (Our Awards), which is the longest-running music awards show on U.S. Spanish-language television.

The deal also includes must-see reality-television moments with “La Reina de La Canción” (Queen of the Song), the search for the next Latin female superstar, and “Mira Quién Baila” (Look Who’s Dancing or MQB), the megahit reality competition series starring celebrities showing off their best dance moves for good causes.

“Univision’s new collaboration with Twitter is yet another example of how we deliver on our mission to provide content that super serves and engages Hispanic audiences across all media platforms,” said Sameer Deen, Chief Digital Officer, Univision. “We are always looking for innovative ways to engage with our increasingly digitally-connected audience and Twitter is a great platform for fostering conversations around major cultural moments and passion points.”

“We are incredibly excited to partner with Univision to launch premium video content on Twitter across some of the biggest news, sports and entertainment events of the year,” said Laura Froelich, Head of U.S. Content Partnerships at Twitter. “This comprehensive collaboration highlights Univision’s unique ability to connect with the U.S. Hispanic community across some of the most relevant and influential conversations happening on Twitter.”
