Randi Rhodes apologized for Bush stunt
Air America talker Randi Rhodes apologized yesterday for a "bad taste" comedy bit in which President Bush was shot. The Secret Service was reportedly looking into the incident to see if it constituted a threat to the president. Rhodes opened her Monday radio show with an announcer blasting the president for his Social Security plan: "A spoiled child is telling us our Social Security isn't safe anymore, so he's gonna fix it for us. Well, here's your answer, you ungrateful whelp: [sound of three shotgun blasts].
Dan Shulman reups with ESPN Radio
ESPN's lead play-by-play commentator Dan Shulman has signed a contract extension to keep him as ESPN Radio's play-by-play announcer for Sunday Night Baseball through 2010. Shulman assumed the role prior to the 2002 season, and has called post-season games for the network since 1998.
Dan Shulman joined ESPN in 1995 as a play-by-play commentator for Major League Baseball and ESPN and ESPN2 college basketball telecasts. He currently calls select Wednesday night MLB games, ESPN2's Tuesday night NCAA men's basketball games and select college basketball games from a variety of conferences for ESPN and ESPN2.
